Most platform lifts have some form of battery backed emergency lowering facility which will allow the user to evacuate the lift in the event of a power failure. However, you may have a need to raise the lift on batteries as well as lower it – for example when a lift serves a basement. In this instance, a UPS is the answer. Not every lift type can be supplied with a UPS, so please be sure to ask the lift company about a UPS if you think that this is something you might need.
