Structure-supported is a term used to describe a steel or aluminium enclosure surrounding a Vertical Platform Lift. This structure can be infilled with solid panels or Glass (or a combination of both). The structure or enclosure is supplied as part of the lift equipment and will contain the doors for each landing. Think of a structure-supported platform lift as a big telephone box, where the floor that you stand on (the platform) moves up and down inside the structure. The enclosure panels and doors remain static and the user passes them by.
