If you’re planning to have a step lift installed in a building that you own, there are a few things you will need to consider before you get started – just to make sure that the product you purchase is absolutely perfect for your requirements.
Level Access Lifts specialises in the supply and installation of high quality, budget-friendly platform lifts, step lifts and other access solutions. In this article, their team of specialists lists a few questions you’ll need to ask yourself while selecting your new steplift.
Will Your Lift Be Indoors Or Outdoors?
All of the step lifts available from Level Access Lifts may be installed in both interior and exterior locations, but you’ll need to tell us which one you’re planning on when you place your order.
How Much Space Do You Have?
Your choice of lift may depend on the size of the space in which it is to be installed. We have a range of lifts that can be placed next to a set of steps – but if you need to prioritise space-saving, you can also choose a lift that can transform into stairs and back, serving as a 2 in 1!
How Many People Will It Carry?
You may prefer a lift that is capable of transporting multiple passengers at once – particularly if you’re planning to install it in a business premises.
We recommend that you check out the weight limit and minimum and maximum platform sizes available to determine the specification that will best suit your needs.
How Far Will It Travel?
The access solutions at Level Access Lifts can make different numbers of “stops” depending on how many levels they are serving. All of our step lifts can make up to two stops.
How Will You Enter?
Entrance style and configuration is an important matter to consider when planning a lift installation. Do you want through-access (entering one side and leaving through the opposite side)? Adjacent access (with the exit on the left or right hand side)?, or same-side entry and exit?
You also need to think about the style of door you want. The options at Level Access Lifts include single swing and automatic rising barrier.
How Will It Be Fitted?
Do you need your lift to be floor mounted (that is, resting on the surface of the floor and accessible via a small ramp) or pit mounted (sunk slightly into the floor)?
We also offer at-threshold mounting options for each of our lifts.
Finish Options
How would you like your lift to look? Many of our products are available in bespoke finishes to complement your existing decor – including inset flooring to match the lift’s surroundings.
Once you’re confident that you have considered all of the above criteria, you’ll be ready to order your step lift! To do so, or to ask any further questions, simply get in touch with the team at Level Access Lifts today via our handy online contact form.
